Shopify ร WhatsApp
Shopify's checkout abandoned event starts a Nonito flow that sends the customer a WhatsApp message, in English or Arabic, and attributes every order that follows. WhatsApp is where customers in Egypt and the Gulf already read their messages, and it carries buttons, images and replies.
Nonito receives orders, abandoned checkouts, customers, products and collections from Shopify. For this flow it listens for one event and uses a handful of fields from it. Discount codes are created in your Shopify store, one per customer, with the expiry you set.
| From Shopify | What it is for |
|---|---|
Checkout abandonedShopify checkout | A shopper reached checkout, left a phone number and did not pay. Shopify also gives the link back to that exact cart. |
| Phone number | Captured at checkout. Without it the flow cannot fire. |
| Cart contents | Product names and quantities, used in the message body. |
| Checkout recovery link | Returns the shopper to the same cart, not the homepage. |
| First name | Used for personalisation. The flow still runs without it. Optional. |
| Cart value | Lets you branch on basket size and skip low-value carts. Optional. |
| Language | Routes Arabic and English shoppers down separate branches. Optional. |
When someone leaves a full cart, a WhatsApp message brings them back to it. Two messages, then it stops.

You left the {{product_name}} in your cart. Want me to hold it for you?
Pick up where you left off: {{checkout_link}}It asks a question rather than making a demand, so replying feels natural. Offering to hold the item implies scarcity without claiming it.

Hi {{first_name}} ๐
Your {{product_name}} is still in the cart. You can pay cash when it arrives, nothing upfront.
{{checkout_link}}Where cash on delivery is a large share of orders, payment anxiety is a real cause of abandonment. Naming it removes the objection before the shopper has to ask.
