Shopify × SMS
Shopify's checkout abandoned event starts a Nonito flow that sends the customer a SMS message, in English or Arabic, and attributes every order that follows. SMS needs no app, no opt-in to a platform and no template approval, and it reaches every phone.
Nonito receives orders, abandoned checkouts, customers, products and collections from Shopify. For this flow it listens for one event and uses a handful of fields from it. Discount codes are created in your Shopify store, one per customer, with the expiry you set.

Checkout abandonedShopify checkout | A shopper reached checkout, left a phone number and did not pay. Shopify also gives the link back to that exact cart. |
| Phone number | Captured at checkout. Without it the flow cannot fire. |
| Cart contents | Product names and quantities, used in the message body. |
| Checkout recovery link | Returns the shopper to the same cart, not the homepage. |
| First name | Used for personalisation. The flow still runs without it. Optional. |
| Cart value | Lets you branch on basket size and skip low-value carts. Optional. |
| Language | Routes Arabic and English shoppers down separate branches. Optional. |
When someone leaves a full cart, a WhatsApp message brings them back to it. Two messages, then it stops.

Yes. Shopify's checkout abandoned event starts the flow, and Nonito sends the SMS message with the customer's details filled in from Shopify. It runs on its own once switched on.

Arabic text is encoded differently, so one SMS segment holds 70 characters instead of 160. Keep Arabic messages short or they split into two or three billed segments. The free Arabic SMS counter shows the split before you send.
