Abandoned Cart Recovery

When a checkout is abandoned, send a WhatsApp reminder with the cart — then a discount only to the people who did not come back.

First touch, no discount

Hi Hussein — you left the Oud Noir 50ml in your cart. Want me to hold it?

Why run the abandoned cart recovery flow?

Customers do not abandon out of disinterest. They get distracted, compare prices, wait for payday. A short, conversational WhatsApp message a few hours later, addressing them by name and linking straight back to checkout, brings a meaningful share of them back. The discount is an optional node, held for the buyers who do not return on the first touch.

01

Margin protected

The first message carries no discount at all. Only the buyers who ignore it ever see a code.

02

Reads like a person

Short, by name, on the channel they already use for everything else — not a templated email in a promotions tab.

03

Stops itself

The Skip If node checks for an order before the second touch, so nobody gets a discount for something they already bought.

How it's wired

This is the flow as it appears in the Nonito builder. Every node here is a real node you can drag, configure and change — nothing about this diagram is decorative.

In the app, drag nodes to rearrange and click any node to configure it. Trigger nodes start the flow; messaging nodes end a branch.

How does this flow work?

  1. 1A shopper reaches checkout and leaves without paying.
  2. 2The flow waits a couple of hours — long enough not to feel like surveillance.
  3. 3A WhatsApp message goes out with the cart contents and a link straight back to checkout.
  4. 4A day later, a Skip If node checks whether the order came through. If it did, the flow ends there.
  5. 5If it did not, a single-use discount code is generated and sent as the second and final touch.

Questions about this flow

Do we have to offer a discount?

No. The discount node is optional and plenty of brands run this flow without it. Removing it turns the second touch into a plain reminder.

How do you avoid messaging someone who already ordered?

The Skip If node checks order status before each touch, so the flow exits the moment the purchase lands.
